BIO

Irene Long, international award–winning pianist. Dedicated to bridging performance, cultural heritage, and interdisciplinary aesthetics. Long currently serves as Artistic Lead of the Music Series at San Francisco’s Great Star Theater, which was officially recognized as “Great Star Theater Day” by San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie during its centennial celebration. In this engagement, Long advances the theater’s mission by curating musical dialogues that bridge cultures and eras, commissioning new works, and connect historical traditions with contemporary audiences.

Growing up in Guangzhou, China, her early promise was won the First Prize at the Hong Kong International Piano Open Competition at age 16, followed by her invitation to perform at the National Musical Arts Development Forum, a prominent international gathering of more than global 700 scholars and leading figures in music industry, and her premiere of new piano compositions by contemporary composer.

Long has performed internationally with distinguished ensembles such as the Grammy-nominated St. Petersburg String Quartet. Her artistry has also earned her opportunities to work with some of the nation’s most distinguished organizations and festivals, including substitute pianist from the New World Symphony in Miami, FL; pianist in Chicago Summer Opera; National Music Festival in D.C.; New Ballet San Jose in San Jose, CA.

Beyond the stage, Long is aa active performance-method developer and educator. With bringing the method has helped learners worldwide to develop cultural expression, identity, and creative through performances.

With her dual commitment to performance excellence and cultural impact, Long continues to shape a career that resonates across international stages and within the communities in the North California.
